As the larva matures it emerges from within the leaf tissue and rolls and ties the edge of a leaf around itself for protection. The larvae are small pale yellow to green caterpillars 0 125 to 0 25 inch long. The larvae soon emerge and roll up the tip or margin of the leaf and continue feeding.
