Asked may 9 2020 8 15 am edt. Some literature says that there is no difference between the two species but we think there is. Edgeworthia chrysantha commonly called paper bush is a compact deciduous shrub that blooms in late winter through early spring. Chrysantha was listed as hardier i decided to try it instead.

The summer loving tree sheds its leaves in fall and late winter going through beautiful fall colors and grows new ones in spring. Edgeworthia is a giant flowering shrub reaching up to 6 8 feet tall. Superb in shape and form paperbush is a wonderful plant to combine with shade tolerant evergreens and wildflowers. But even as paperbush leaves are yellowing in fall the plant develops large clusters of tubular buds.

What a nice plant. The green leaves of the plant are shaped like a lance head narrow oval shape with a pointy top edge. A few days after purchasing i went to plant it and noticed that some leaves were loosing their colour. I have two edgeworthia shrubs which have been planted side by side for about four months.
