Variety or cultivar emily brown emily brown is a prostrate dense wide spreading borderline hardy evergreen shrub with reddish brown stems bearing small oblong to elliptic toothed holly like dark green leaves and spherical clusters of blue to violet blue flowers in late spring and early summer.

A fast growing very large shrub to 8 x 12 wide in time. This is an good plant for groundcover. Sun and drought tolerant. Emily browns dark blue flowers are at its best near the coast needs some shade inland.

Tall 8 10 ft. Ceanothus gloriosus exaltatus emily brown wild lilac. The glory of this large wild evergreen shrub occurs in april when the branches are awash in deep violet blue flowers the darkest hue among this species. Excellent for wild uncultivated areas.

Violet dark blue in summer. A handsome spreading deep green evergreen of great drought tolerance. Flowers of dark violet blue in 1 inch clusters cover the shrub in early spring. This coastal species is one of the more deer resistant ceanothus available.
